Journal on 'The "values" wasteland"

This essay is more of a debate about the values and the concerns the public has about it. Each of us has a value that was taught either by our parents or by other close source.Values are a very controversial topic , the fact that we have to be guided by a set of rules , and that we are not sure of which one is right. Values are more than just rules is what represents us in the society or in other words is how we are judge by. This essay is very realistic, but I still think that values are to be taught by the family and then practice in the society/public. School do not have the right to teach values bacause each teacher have their own values, who knows for sure which one is the right or wrong value. My values were taught by my family, and I practice them everyday with every decision I make.

Journal on "Sammy sosa"

The author which in this case in Sammy Sosa portrail the facts of his childhhod and all the struggles he went through. Things around the world are similar to this case, for example the struggles of poor kids. Sammy Sosa narrates everything he went through as a poor kid does, his childhood was really hard, sometimes he couldn't eat or enjoy what other kids did because he worked. I think that this narration is really catchy, the idea of a famous person that had overcome all his problems, that has gone so far is really inspiring and useful to does in the same position, kids that go throught the same things feel that their life can some day change. The narration illustrate the actual facts and events in the past. This is sort of autobiography, that inform readers. It was a cool yet sad narration.

Journal on "The Fourth of July"

The Fourth of July is a very detailed narration that tell the thoughts and secrets of a girl that felt the harshness of the discrimination towards the black community in first hand. This author used flashback and flashforward, making her present and past life more known to the reader. It also shows that kids do feel and know what is happening around them as Lorde tells. I remember when I was a kid I used to listen to every conversation ever taken place in my house, my parents knew but they thought I was just a kid and that I didn't know much. This is also seen in the narration the fact that the author was very aware of her surrounding , and her parents just ignore the fact that sometimes things should not be taken for granted or just ignored, kids are very curious and major events should be explain to then. I love the fact that this paper has a author perspective that is delivered to the reader and creates a drama full with facts.
